"Hot Topic" Teacher Workshops and Mini-course Program
Acquaints teachers--at every grade level and throughout the state--with Space Science-related topics and training for their use in the classroom.
"Hot Topic" Workshop
A variety of topics are covered during workshops linked to a current newsworthy "Hot Topic" in science. In 1993, the Hot Topic Workshop was on the science issues of Jurassic Park. In 1994, the Hot Topic Workshop was linked to the Shoemaker-Levy 9 comet impact of Jupiter. In 1995, the Hot Topic Workshop was based on the summer's hit movie, Apollo 13. At each workshop, scientists from a range of fields give presentations and lead the teachers through possible classroom hands-on activities.
Teacher Partnership Program
Partners with teachers by sending young scientists into the classroom to support space-related curriculum.
Have a NASA or space related topic you would like to see covered? Let us know. We may be able to create a workshop around your suggestion.
